Car Plunges Over Bank Injuring Driver and 13 Others
A Fayetteville area crash spree leaves Paul Scambati and Trooper Zapf among the injured. Scambati, 23, suffers serious head injuries after his car tumbled 150 feet off an embankment near the Onondaga Skeet Club. Zapf, thrown from his motorcycle during a chase, is treated for cuts and bruises. The series of accidents across Syracuse and Onondaga County injures 13. several drivers, including Alten B Whitten, face charges for drunken driving and related offenses.

Draper at 37 Coffeen Street told police at 11 Saturday night he struck a man on Coffeen Street near the Fair Ground. The pedestrian, whose name was not given, suffered a leg injury and left the scene on his own.

Syracuse University Offers June Defense Training Program
Syracuse University College of Applied Science, with the Engineering Defense Training Program, will run a 12 week summer course starting June 17 for qualified applicants. Courses cover electrical, design, mathematics, surveying and more without tuition, not earning college credit. A second series of below college grade courses begins July 1 for defense workers or those with NY State Employment Service letters.

British Act Protested by US Italians
The Italian American World War Veterans of the USA incited a protest at the end of its annual State convention by passing a resolution condemning Britain for allegedly denying an Italian American extraction the right to work on a US air base in Bermuda. The stone mason claimant, a disabled World War veteran, has a son serving in the US Navy. The resolution sent a copy to Cordell Hall.

Miss Leona Walker of Camden suffered a lacerated left knee and facial bruises in a 2:30 A.M. crash four miles west of Utica on Route 5. Stephen Snyder of this village rode as a passenger in her car. the Snyder vehicle collided with a car driven by Mrs. Theresa Curtis of Utica. Frank Curtis sustained a back wrench in the other car.
