New Moon Found Orbiting Uranus Sparks Nasa Sky Watchers
Observers gain a new tool from the Maronal Aeronavus and Space Admistation called J-Pass to track satellites and space shuttle flights. Thick waists linked to higher son births in women
Rutgers University researchers studied 141 Jamaican women and found those with thick waists had about 30 percent more sons than average. Similar results appeared in two other groups, suggesting a possible link between body shape and the likelihood of bearing sons.

Venus Dominates Western Skies In Peak Evening Show
Venus has dazzled observers since earlier this year and now nears the pinnacle of its current evening apparition. By late Friday it will be 45 degrees east of the Sun, visible in the west-northwest until after 11 30 PM Eastern daylight time. A telescope or binoculars reveals a half moon phase progressing to a longer, thinner crescent as it brightens toward July 14 before diminishing, and it will pass between Earth and the Sun on August 20.

NASA maps bold plans for humans and robots to Mars
NASA officials and scientists outline a grand vision for the next decades including robot colonies on Mars, an interplanetary internet, solar sails, and a Yoda mission to Alpha Centauri. Blackboard notes cite tethers, antimatter propulsion, and manufacturing from asteroid resources as steps toward sending people to Mars within 15 to 20 years and beyond Earth.

How rivers get their bends
Rivers change course through erosion and deposition at bends. Fast outer-flow erodes banks while material deposits on inner bends forming point bars, causing meanders to migrate and often intensify over time. Patterns vary by terrain and flow, with shifts possible along stretches and even rapid migration in some rivers.
