Hot humid air grips the nation as showers and thunderstorms threaten the Great Lakes Gulf Coast and Dawes northern areas. New England to Arizona see sultry heat with gusty winds and developing storms across multiple regions.
The extended forecast shows dry conditions in the Northeast turning to scattered showers and thunderstorms from the Tennessee Valley to the lower Mississippi Valley. Thunderstorms threaten winds and hail with possible tornadoes, while heat peaks reach 90s in the northern New England, mid-Atlantic and desert Southwest amid varied regional skies.
