Skaneateles center eyes state budget funding for renovations
Suzanne M. Jackson reports on Sarah Redding, director of the Early Childhood Center in Skaneateles, pursuing a $550,000 mix of grants and loans to convert a former Niagara Mohawk building into a child care center. The project, a joint effort of Urban Development Corp and the Division of Social Services, hinges on the state budget and an environmental study. If funds fail to materialize, the center will seek alternative sources and may proceed in phases, aiming to break ground in fall and open in 1996.
