Churchmen skirt issue on women ordination ruling
An ecclesiastical court in Washington DC sidestepped whether women may be ordained as Episcopal priests. The majority found the Philadelphia ordination a nonissue, while two dissenters argued the act proved women are eligible for the priesthood. The ruling disciplined a pastor for allowing an ordained woman to celebrate communion.
