Priest Rescues Man From Jump Off Queensboro Bridge
In New York a Catholic priest saved a suicidal man from leaping 400 feet from the Queensboro Bridge by climbing a shaky ladder and pleading with him. Police halted traffic as the man, later identified as Eldon James McCue, 37, resisted, while the Rev. Joseph J. McGowan assisted from behind, eventually aiding his rescue.
