Baltimore man acquitted in snowball home shooting case

A Baltimore County Circuit Court jury acquitted Roman George Welzant of all charges in the fatal shooting of Albert R. Kahl Jr. and wounding of James Willey after nearly 11 hours of deliberation. Prosecutors argued a dangerous, intentional act. defense urged self defense and warnings shots.

Bond Denied for Four in Miami Riots Slaying

UPI reports Circuit Judge Mario Goderich denied bond for four black men charged with beating and stomping to death a white man and his two teenage companions during the Miami riots on May 17. The judge ruled the proof evident and the presumption great of guilt after two hours of testimony.
