Reds Boom Menon As Negotiator
Washington reports Red China may rely on India's V. K. Krishna Menon as intermediary with the United States and Peiping. Menon, 58, a long-time critic of the United States, has gained influence through Red China’s handling of four U.S. airmen releases and is to attend United Nations meetings in New York and San Francisco. Officials caution he could push Red China interests, though Nehru supports him as a top adviser and UN diplomat.
