Prison bribe probe nets 10 charged in Ossining case

An undercover operation exposed a ring in which prison staff took up to 1000 from inmates in return for transfers and deliveries of drugs food and cash. Ten suspects including six corrections officers and an inmate were indicted in Westchester County Court for 20 transactions at Ossining Correctional Facility.

Inmate seeks clemency after 22 years remaining

David T. McBride, 34, who escaped a 25 year LSD sentence in 1975, has returned to Virginia’s Powhatan Correctional Center to begin serving the remainder of his term. He asks Gov. Robb for clemency and cites rehabilitation in Sweden where he built a shipyard business.
