Washington July 25 The Army reveals highly trained dogs are used to locate non metal mines and booby traps. On six foot leashes they clear paths, mark safe routes, and assist removal or deactivation of explosives. Training is via the Quartermaster Corps with dogs weighing 43 to 65 pounds chosen for intelligence and steadiness.
