Jewish fund grows by supporting smaller groups
The Syracuse Jewish Federation raises over 1 million yearly for local, national, and international causes. An Opportunity Fund was created to aid smaller local projects, funding 13 of 23 applications last year with 24,750 in grants for varied efforts from cemetery upkeep to a children’s music program. The federation plans 30,000 in new small-charity grants this year and invites proposals by July 31, with awards in late summer.
