Flamingos land on Cedar Falls lawn in playful fundraiser
Cedar Falls residents Clarence and Barbara Brown woke to 20 plastic flamingos on their lawn. The Pink Wave youth group from Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo used the prank to raise funds for a New Orleans Lutheran youth convention. For ten dollars the birds are spared, fifteen dollars buys another target, and seniors chat with the teens about the joke.
