Clockville Road crash kills Canastota woman
A 20 year old Canastota resident Lori A Fieldson died when her car left Clockville Road and overturned in water near Clockville Road RD1 last night around 10 40 pm. State police said she was alone and the vehicle struck a fence before ending up on its roof. She died at Oneida City Hospital with an autopsy pending to determine the cause.

Gas leak prompts plant evacuation at Climate Control
Several hundred workers were evacuated from the Climate Control plant at 62 Columbus St as New York Gas and Electric crews fixed a natural gas leak in a utility fitting near the building. Production halted at 10:30 and resumed about two hours later. The leak, three feet underground, was pressed shut by earth pressure. repairs concluded by 11:15 as police and firefighters rerouted traffic and oversaw the evacuation.

Union Springs teen injured in Route 326 crash
Daniel Bowen a 16 year old Union Springs resident was driving a pickup when it left Route 326 and hit a tree near Springport in Cayuga County. State police said he sustained head chest and neck injuries and was listed in good condition at Auburn Memorial Hospital. Bowen faced charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right.

AURELIUS Jay T. Foster of 25 First Ave Auburn, charged with driving with a revoked license in Aurelius. Deputy Richard Noga of the Cayuga County Sheriff's Department arraigned him before Justice Raymond Lockwood Jr. He was committed in lieu of an $85 fine to the Cayuga County Jail.
Two Massachusetts men jailed for stolen property charges
George Metz and Francisco Cardinal, both 19 and from Provincetown, Mass., began 90 day sentences in Franklin County Jail after pleading guilty to third degree criminal possession of stolen property. They allegedly robbed a Canadian citizen at St Antoine Abbey, Quebec, and face possible extradition to Canada for armed robbery charges. They were arrested at the border near Malone just before midnight. The robbery was reported around 4 p.m. and Quebec police notified about 15 minutes later. Arraigned before Chateaugay Town Justice Abraham Hubbard, the pair received the 90 day terms.
