Pike directed distribution of 63 percent of common stock to salaried employees who held it in trust, ending a system praised as industrial democracy. Sylvan Lake fire death to be presented to grand jurors
Poughkeepsie July 9 A Dutchess County Grand Jury will review the June 15 Sylvan Lake cottage fire in which Arthur Horton of Millburn New Jersey died. Assistant District Attorney Edward G. Miller disclosed the inquiry after Peace Justice T B Hilton Beekman Town dismissed second degree arson charges against John Calcott 43 of Mountainside N J for lack of sufficient evidence. Calcott has been free on 2500 bail since June 22.
