Soup Base with Onions and Beans Simmered with Spices
In a nonreactive pot, onions and garlic cook with oil and salt until soft. Add celery peppers chile oregano thyme cumin and pepper and saute. Stir in water tomatoes and beans, simmer until tender, then mix in black eyed peas and barbecue sauce. Garnish with tortilla chips and optional cheese or sour cream.
