New Chicago schools chief sparks uproar
The Chicago Board of Education voted to offer Ruth B. Love a four year contract as superintendent, ending a seven month search marked by racial confrontations. Love, 48, will start March 25 and earn 120000 a year, the highest salary for a public official in Illinois. She will bring three Oakland aides with her.
