Vernon scandal and police blunders mar New Year’s start
In Vernon a New Year’s scuffle left Supervisor Roman Wilczak with rib injuries and the outgoing clerk Barbara Lanz facing trespassing charges. Bruce Lanz was charged with trespass and harassment, while Lanz and Wilczak offer conflicting accounts of the confrontation. In Chittenango and Oneida Territory, police incidents and land purchases create a tense start to the year.
