Pyramid Center expansion faces tax deal vote delay

County lawmakers set a January 22 vote on a property tax plan tied to Pyramid Center expansion at Carousel Center. Silver set to name Assembly leaders in party shakeup

Governor Pataki's budget timeline delays no relief for lawmakers as Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver plans to announce a new majority leader and chair appointments. Bragman was ousted after a failed coup, retirements shift posts, and pay for chairmanships and leadership roles remains in the mix. Senate leader Bruno faces similar duties with little change in members. A political joke on voting reform follows Bruno's remarks about butterfly ballots. Silver appeared alone at a reception after Pataki's State of the State, sparking questions about unity among Democrats.
