Crippled B36 Lands Safely After 10 Hour Plunge

A U S Pacific base watched a crippled B36 bomber circle for almost ten hours with a damaged wing and landing gear before landing safely. Air Force spokesmen say the loss of wing trailing parts occurred at takeoff. The crew notified after attempting to raise the gear. The KM crew planned emergency repairs en route as the pilot Captain Leonard N Rommer of Tehoneha Michigan steered with brakes and power to keep the aircraft stable.

Drunk Driver Sentenced in North Syracuse Case

Arthur F. Hill age 33 of Fort Wayne Indiana pled guilty to drunken driving and speeding in North Syracuse business district. He faced 125 dollars in fines and ten days in Onondaga County Penitentiary but will serve one day per unpaid dollar after unable to pay. Police stopped Hill at 2 am on Main Street after a 60 mph drive. he was arrested by Patrolman Donald Houmle and taken to Cedar Street jail for tests. Hill is employed by Grey Vans Inc.

A spectacular fire devastated the German Roman Catholic Orphans Home in Buffalo with flames sweeping the three story main building.
