The Taiwan government will spend 25 million dollars for a two year software training system produced by Lockheed Martins Salina plant to support radar for Taiwan Air Force. The deal preserves more than 25 skilled jobs and avoids layoffs, with Lockheed staff set to train Taiwanese users.
The Baldwinsville Jamesville De Witt Solvay and Onondaga districts are out of snow days. With cancellations likely they must make up time by cutting staff development or vacation days or extending the school year.
A winter storm closed every school in Onondaga County with 13.4 inches of snow at Hancock Airport. Through the season the total snow measured 18.967 inches, far above normal, while today’s record low touched 11 degrees below zero. Robert Dewey Hoskins, 38, allegedly twice invaded her Hollywood Hills home, with one incident leading to him being shot by a guard while Madonna was away. Hoskins faces up to 10 years for stalking, making terrorist threats and assault.
Four Habitat for Humanity houses in Syracuse were damaged over three weeks with copper pipes torn out and extensive destruction to walls, ducts, doors, and windows. Site coordinator Thomas DiTullio estimates about 1200 dollars damage per house as police pursue likely same culprits.
The data show seven hundredths of a degree higher than the 1991 record. One year does not prove a trend, but British figures from 1991 to 1995 are warmer than any five year stretch, including parts of the 1980s, the warmest decade so far.
