Area lawyer Scott faces new charges in demolition dispute

Baldness linked to higher heart attack risk study says

A Chicago report notes men aged 29 to 93 with severe baldness on top show three times greater risk of heart attack than those with full hair. Modest baldness raises risk, while receding hairlines without baldness do not. The study of 645 heart attack victims and 772 controls appears in JAMA and was funded by Lipohon, maker of Rogaine.

Lent Begins as Ash Wednesday Observed in Syracuse

The Rev Robert Brennan of St John the Baptist and families from Liverpool and Westvale observed Ash Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church on Syracuse's West Side. Parishioners received ashes in the cross on their foreheads as Lent begins, a 40 day period of reflection, atonement and self denial. Clergy emphasized mortality, repentance, and spiritual renewal, with parishioners describing Lent as a time to save their souls and follow Jesus teachings.

Five skiers survive four days wandering in Colorado woods

DENVER Five cross country skiers missing in the Rocky Mountains were found alive after four days. Ken Torp and Elliot Brown walked to a trading post south of Aspen to call home while Dee Dubin Rob Dubin and Brigitte Schlager were rescued by helicopter. Frostbite treatment given to Schlager and Mrs Dubin. Torp and Brown described enduring two nights in the open with minimal food before meeting snowmobilers and guiding authorities to safety.
