Cornell teams' bus overturns on I-81 injuring several

A Cornell University bus carrying 31 women from the swimming and basketball squads skidded 30 feet off snowy Interstate 81 near Lenoxtown, Pennsylvania, overturning in a field. Ten women hospitalized, two in serious condition from internal injuries, others with fractures or minor injuries. Driver Jonah L. Miller, Ithaca, said to have lost control on a snow patch while traveling northbound.

PSC annual report tardiness calls for a laugh and blame

The Herald-Journal notes the 1976 PSC annual report arrived by mid February 1977 but was actually the 1975 edition, delayed by about 14 months. Public Information Officer Francis Rivette blames the post office and says the report has very low priority, as it is a lengthy review of utilities with biographical sketches. He jokes about mimeographing a shorter 10 to 12 page version to speed up publication.
