He left City Jail in Tacoma and returned to Seattle where he has a Lake Washington home. Beck, 64, plans to appeal the convictions, saying he is not broke and has sought financial aid to cover legal costs.
AP reports Dr. Evan R. Keislar f of UCLA develops an electronic teaching machine. The device uses a punch button system with films and slides to present lessons, guides students with lights for correct answers, and records progress for teachers. He notes it could ease teacher shortages and teach various subjects from nursery rhymes to astronomy.
