In Mineola a courtroom cheered as jurors found Ferguson guilty on all counts for the December 7 1993 attack aboard a commuter train. Victims and families expressed relief as the verdicts set the stage for a life sentence likely on March 20.
Eric Brazell an 18 year old Liverpool resident who worked at Mother's Restaurant died after a Thursday morning fire at his second floor apartment. He suffered third degree burns over more than 70 percent of his body and died at University Hospital Friday afternoon. Detectives labeled the blaze accidental but could not determine the exact cause, noting a candle may have started the fire.
