Two Upstate Women Injured In Snowbound Car Crash
Mrs. Joseph A. Logan of 600 Midland Ave and Mrs. Willard Seymour of Tully were in a chain collision on the Elmira-Troy Pa highway 13 miles south of the New York border during a blinding snowstorm at 7 30 this morning. They were passengers in a car driven by Mrs. Logan’s husband bound for Florida. Logan’s car was struck by a convertible driven by Lee Wayland Douglass, a Har ne University student, of Alton Ill. Douglass’ car spun and struck Logan’s vehicle as he drove north. Douglass was unconscious in Troy Community Hospital with head and face lacerations and chest injuries. the two women were treated at Troy hospital for contusions and shock. Logan was not hospitalized. Logan’s car sustained about 1200 in damage. Douglass’ car was demolished. The Logans had left at 3 AM from New Yorkers, heading to Columbia crossroads on Route 14 when the crash occurred. Logan works at the Belle vue Country Club and the couple live with his wife’s parents.
