Noriega Indicted On Drug Charges In 12-Count Case

Panamanian strongman Noriega and 13 others were indicted by a federal grand jury on 12 counts alleging racketeering and drug related crimes. The charges claim Noriega skimmed profits from shipments moved through Panama as he ruled since 1983. Fly-by-night travel clubs prey on consumers in Florida and beyond

John and Marie Denny of Liverpool paid 298 for a travel club membership to receive a free trip to Disney World or Las Vegas, but the club vanished and they never traveled. Florida Consumer Affairs reports thousands of complaints since 1986 as these clubs use pressure tactics and credit card charges to collect fees. Some operators relocate to Tennessee Texas or Louisiana while legitimate clubs impose hidden costs and restrictions. local residents are warned to beware of offers promising free trips.
