Continental Information Systems Corp. faced a $10 million bid in summer 1987 to back out of a hostile takeover by a Michigan rival. The offer, blamed for pushing CIS toward bankruptcy, emerged as CMI Holding Co. pressed the dispute in court. CIS President Harry B. Goetzmann Jr. declined the deal.

Friends charged in death Noel's body scratched bruised police say
In Hannibal Oswego County deputies arrested Linda Beech and Glenn Davies for criminally negligent homicide in the death of 71 year old Timothy Noel whose scratched bruised body was found in a ditch off Brown Road. No cause of death yet from autopsy. Undersheriff Todd said the two knew he had a problem and did not help.
