The State Department of Taxation and Finance plans to meet Federal officials in Washington next month to discuss joint Federal and State income tax returns. Legislators scrutinize new questions on tax forms amid concerns over penalties for noncompliance. In 1938 New York State collected 532 million in personal income taxes with refunds of 736 thousand. The Affiliated Young Democrats praised Governor Lohan’s 19670 and urged passage of a 13 million boost to the personal income tax. Baker Hall at Ohio State University will be named in honor of Neylon D. Baker, former secretary of war and university treasurer.
