A four story Rochester Refrigerating Corp warehouse burned in pre-dawn blaze causing about $200,000 in damage. Officials said the fire compromised foodstuffs, beer, and pies valued near $1,000,000. Twelve firefighters were overcome by gas fumes and hospitalized as crews fought the stubborn flames.
A late night bus crash near the Railroad Y.M.C.A. on State Street injured about 30 passengers. Fire crews battled flames in a warehouse area as three trucks were rerouted. police said most injuries were minor with some stretcher cases.
