New York Rules Against Baby Talk For Infants
The State of New York officially opposes baby talk for infants in a state educational study approved by the governor and health commissioner. Parents are advised to speak slowly and clearly to babies, with da da or ma noted as early vocal attempts, while emphasizing proper enunciation. The document stresses that parenthood enriches life despite ongoing work and that mothers and fathers should use standard speech as children grow.
