Fire drill becomes real for Aurelius family blaze

Eight Aurelius firefighters stationed two miles away for a drill responded within minutes to a farmhouse fire on West Genesee Street Road. The old 150 year old house suffered kitchen and bathroom damage but was saved, with no injuries reported. The drill’s head start proved crucial as alarms failed to sound.

Fulton man Frank C. Fineron dies after long illness

Frank Carl Fineron of 609 West First Street Fulton died Monday at his home after a long illness. A native of Albany he lived most of his life in Fulton and retired in 1971 from General Electric in Syracuse where he worked as an electrician. He was a past exalted ruler of Fulton Elks Lodge and a communicant of St Michael's Church. Surviving are his wife Mary a son Frank of Rochester three grandchildren and several cousins. Services will be at 9 am Thursday at Young and Son Funeral Home and at 9 30 am in St Michael's Church both in Fulton. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery Fulton. Calling hours are 7-9 pm today Dec 27 and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday Elks Club services will be at 7 30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
