Army Supply Orders Run By Brain in Europe
The US Army tests Project Mass in Stuttgart Germany to automate replenishment via electronic cards. Maj Harold Maier and civilian experts say the system aims to locate tag and number items, reduce depots from Europe to five, and boost mobile direct supply units to about 100. The goal is 20 day replenishment from the United States, with 30 percent of items movable in 23 days as mass logistics expand.
