Miss Mary L Collins of 124 Renwick Avenue was injured when struck by a car at James and Lodi Streets Tuesday. She was transferred from St. Joseph's Hospital to Crouse-Irving Hospital Wednesday night and continued to show improvement today.

William P. Buckner 32 a Broadway playboy released on parole from the Federal Penitentiary in Lewisburg and vanished with his parents for an unknown destination. Buckner served nine months of a two year sentence for fraud and conspiracy tied to Philippine Railway bonds. The warden said the parents drove a car to a side entrance and whisked him away to a Lewisburg inn. Buckner then took another car and sped off. He planned to hurry to New York to join his wife Adelaide Moffet and their two month old son.
Capital gains tax suspended two years ago will be reinstituted in Germany on January 1 to curb rising stock market trends noted in the last month. Dienst Aus Deutschland said the prospect had been anticipated and has already had a quieting effect on the market.
