Reagan seeks Hussein support to advance Mideast peace
Jordan's King Hussein meets President Reagan and U S officials in Washington hoping to gain Jordanian cooperation for a new plateau of cooperation in negotiations over the Israeli held West Bank and Gaza. The talks aim to revive Reagan's Palestinian entity plan while bridging gaps with Jordan on statehood and Camp David references. Israel's rejection complicates the path but U S officials expect Hussein to influence talks and potentially push Israel toward negotiations.
