Retired Conductor Ends 50 Years On the Road
Onondaga County polio drive receipts total 12 617.24 with half to national headquarters and half kept locally. Expenditures of 66 786.16 for patient care in 1952 cited by Alan Lecklin, chapter treasurer, as high due to more cases and carryover patients. William R. Gilbert, 70, of East Syracuse, retires after 30 years service on the New York Central at Lakeline Yard, receiving a departing purse and planning a hobby shop. He has a wife, three children, and connections to local police and hospitals through his career and charity work.
