Clinton cabinet expected to be male heavy despite promises
Clinton plans to name more appointees as cabinet posts show few women. Donna Shalala leads the Health and Human Services nomination and a female attorney general heads the Justice Department. Environmental and economic roles already feature women, with debate over the balance and experience. Public interest groups urge broader inclusion while acknowledging political constraints and potential backlash.

Space scope spots newly formed stars
The Hubble Space Telescope photographed broad disks of gas and dust around 15 newborn stars, offering strong evidence that planets may form outside our solar system and supporting theories of planetary system formation. Observers note the spinning dust creates circumstellar disks that spread outward rather than feeding the central star, implying potential planet formation.
