Reunion TV movie earns mixed reviews from local panel

Six local viewers polled by TV writer William LaRue graded CBS TV movie Reunion a D or D minus. They critique the ghost story family drama blend, noting a disjointed plot, irritating mother portrayal, and a upbeat ending that undercuts the disturbing premise. The film airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on WTVH Channel 5.

Predictable Ending Draws Harsh TV Movie Verdict

Critics fault the Lee Grant directed film for uneven drama and a pat finale. Marlo Thomas is said to look too old for her role as a mother to younger characters. Reviewers condemn the plot for dangling subplots and grim scenes of danger to children, calling the ending contrived and over familiar.
