Task force to study aging out of youth services

DelBello leads a push to form a task force with the public school system to map how many youths age out of services and to improve transitions from school to adult day treatment and work shelters. Agencies warn of long waiting lists, limited programs, and gaps for disabled youth needing vocational training and community placement.

South Side man jailed for multiple robbery counts

A 27-year-old South Side resident received two to four years in state prison for a November 1982 robbery and beating of an East Fayette Street man. William Applins pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree robbery and grand larceny, with defense calling him an involved bystander. His brother Raymond Jones, already sentenced to seven to 14 years, had prior felony convictions including a 1979 robbery and 1982 shooting death linked drug theft.
