A search was organized for three Royal Canadian Air Force fliers missing after a Fairely bomber vanished during a routine flight over Lake Erie. Flying Officer L A Hood of St Joseph Missouri, Aircraftman E W Bourne of Oshawa Ontario, and Aircraftman John Henry McNally of Minaki Ontario were aboard when the aircraft, towing a gunnery target, disappeared in cloud at about 1000 to 1500 feet. Port Stanley fishing tugs aided in the search but found nothing. Hood was linked to American pilots stationed at No 4 bombing and gunnery school here.
