Carey weighs inspection delay in state rule
Gov. Hugh L. Carey said he would consider delaying the new vehicle inspection regulation after complaints that lapses in insurance coverage and ineffective stations are harming motorists. He spoke at the Everson Museum in Syracuse during a town meeting and ordered quick reviews with Insurance Superintendent John Lennon. Carey and aides said legality of the regulation is being studied and a delay could be sought within 24 hours if undue hardship is proved.

FAIRBANKS Alaska AP The city electric company has given over seven thousand five hundred dollars to the Salvation Army in a reimbursement for an overbilling dispute. The overcharge arose after remodeling and a new meter in mid-1974 and the thrift shop paid ten times the correct amount. The total overbilling amounts to about sixteen thousand dollars with four thousand one hundred already refunded and a credit of four thousand four hundred applied.
