Hoover Group Shelves New Pay Formula
The Hoover Group has shelved a plan to double resident salaries and raise major increases from 25 to 150 percent. It will now recommend substantial increases only, preserving flexibility for Congress and avoiding fixed price tags on government pay. The commission, led by former President, studies ways to streamline the executive branch and had proposed a formula including president’s salary, vice president’s raise from 20,000 to 50,000 a year, and board and commission pay increases. It also suggested wage recommendations for all service jobs above 5,000 dollars, with specifics up to 7,000 dollars.
