Pleads Not Guilty in Tipsy Driving Arrignment

M. J. Coleton of 146 Erickson Street pleaded not guilty to driving while intoxicated in Traffic Court before Judge Harry H. Farmer. He was held on $50 cash bail until Saturday after allegedly forcing Patrolman Jay T. Lane’s police scout car onto the sidewalk on Genesee Street.

Treasure Hunt for the Needy by Eastwood Group

A benefit treasure hunt organized by Eastwood Business Associates drew 400 residents to raise funds for Christmas baskets. The event began at 2 50 P M from 2649 James Street, toured Bartons Corners and other stops, returning to Syracuse for a hunt dinner and dancing at Hotel Syracuse. Rob er t G Straub chaired the committee with Charles Mason Rita Drayer and Frank G Schug in leadership roles. Patrolmen Frank Lesicki and John Zebriec directed the car caravan accompanying the hunt.

Decision on Hall election dispute in Lafayette

Onondaga County Board of Elections and supervisor elect Hall weigh an appeal after Supreme Court Justice Crege voided Hall's Lafayette supervisor win citing irregularities involving voters from Onondaga Indians. Court action was brought by John Crowe, with no immediate order served, and the town board to name a supervisor if no appeal is filed.

Five Backed For Federal Court Post

Political leaders seek a successor to Judge Frank Cooper in the Northern District covering Onondaga and 193 counties. Candidates include Richard P. Byrne, J Herbert Gilroy, John W. MacDonald, Stephen W. Brennan, Donald V. Carr, and David F. Lee, with Ralph L. Emmons favored for reappointment. The President will appoint with Senate confirmation. Cooper remains in post until a successor is chosen. The Supreme Court postponed opinions to attend a joint session with President Roosevelt.
