Oswego River divers locate a car once driven by 18 year old Peter Morrison who vanished from Fulton on June 15 1985. Human remains are believed in the vehicle and await positive identification by Onondaga County Medical Examiner. Morrison was a G Ray Bodley High School football star.
The New Yorker reports unreleased White House tapes show President Nixon wanted to use George Wallace’s attempted assassination to discredit McGovern’s 1972 bid. Nixon and Charles Colson allegedly discussed campaign literature found in Arthur Bremer’s Milwaukee apartment, but the plan fizzled after the FBI sealed Bremer’s place.
Ken Ray Newport, then 17, recalls President Roosevelt’s Pearl Harbor broadcast on December 8 1941 and the nation’s entry into war. Other Syracuse residents including Samuel R Danial, 70, recall the mobilization mood as they faced graduation and induction notices.
