Through with politics ex-Tammany boss says
Newly paroled Carmine DeSapio declares he is through with politics for now. The former head of Manhattan's Tammany Hall says he may explore other work in time and will not sign affidavits against politics. He served 17 months of a two year sentence for conspiracy to bribe and kickbacks related to a Consolidated Edison contract. He describes prison life and notes fellow inmate Clifford Irving, author of a hoax autobiography, as affable and charming.
