Onondaga Deputies Pay Raise Pending Legislature Review
A labor contract would raise Onondaga County sheriff's deputies about $2,000 on average through 1983, costing about $1 million including $302,000 in 1982 retroactive payments and $700,000 in 1983. The pact with the Deputy Sheriffs Benevolent Association includes a 5 percent retroactive raise to Jan 1, 1982, a 2 percent retroactive raise to Sept 1, 1982, and a 7 percent increase on Jan 1, 1983, approved by the Public Safety Committee but facing questions from some legislators about wider union pay parity.

Colleges Reach Skaneateles Course Sharing Pact
Cayuga and Onondaga community colleges resolve a territorial dispute over classes at Skaneateles Central High School. Next spring Cayuga will offer Psychology 101, Computer Science 114, and a SAT prep course. OCC will provide Accounting 105, 106, English 103 and 104, and Spanish 206. Courses rotate each semester. fall already has CCC offerings. The district, 15 miles closer to Cayuga, seeks cost savings and program access for residents. Superintendent Albert Pultz welcomes the arrangement.
