Parks suffer in Cuomo budget cuts across state
Gov Mario Cuomo's deficit plan freezes winter spending at New York state parks. Regional offices must trim from 3000 to 79000 dollars, forcing event cancellations and cutbacks. Dozens of seasonal workers will be laid off ahead of March 31. Winter operations including cross country skiing and ice programs are suspended.
