New Stage Project Gives Kids a Chance in New York
An experimental theater concept unveiled at the National Theater Conference meeting in New York aims to showcase rising actors, directors, and designers from university and community theaters before professional buyers. The plan, backed by Rockefeller funds, proposes a $60,000 budget for 1947 and opening within the year at the old Princess theater on Ninth Street, with support from Smith College, Goodman Memorial Theater, Carnegie Tech, and other institutions.
