Syracuse sergeant faces firing over lie detector test in Bernardi mug shot case
Police Chief Sardino says a Syracuse sergeant could be fired for refusing a polygraph amid an internal probe into the alleged theft of a 25 year old mug shot from Republican mayoral candidate Roy Bernardi's criminal file. He blamed the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office for not sealing the file despite a court order. The investigation involved internal affairs searches of Marsman's home and workspace. Marsman refused to sign a voluntary test form, arguing it was an order, and faces potential discipline from a written report due to Lt Monti. If charged, Marsman could receive punishment from a reprimand to dismissal.
