Holiday Car Toll Mounts During Labor Day Weekend

Traffic fatalities rose as the Labor Day exodus began with 67 deaths nation wide since 6 PM Friday. Auto accidents accounted for 53 of the fatalities, with one drowning and multiple mishaps including five small plane crashes. The National Safety Council estimates up to 250 could be killed over the three day weekend.
