Woman dies after stabbing in Kirk Park case against Lorraine Batey
Diane McMullen pleaded for urgent help after being stabbed in Kirk Park on Monday. A couple found her bleeding and she collapsed before aid arrived. McMullen died at State University Hospital at 1 15 p m about an hour after the assault. Lorraine Batey, 31, of 140 Fernwood, was charged roughly 344 hours later with second degree murder and third degree weapon possession in the death. In 1977 Batey was convicted of fourth degree weapon possession.
